Templar Route (Tomar & Alcobaça)

We will start the trip to Tomar, which will be a temporary return until the 12th century. For those who appreciate all the experience and speculation one feels when talking about the Templars, Tomar is the ideal place to relive this period. We will visit the Templar Castle and the famous Convent of the Order of Christ. The headquarters was in Tomar and the Order of Christ was actually the former headquarters of the Order of the Templars.

Later we will move to Alcobaça, where we will take advantage of our free time to have lunch in the area. After lunch is finished, we will see the largest monastery in the country, once occupied by one of the oldest religious orders in the world: the Alcobaça Monastery. Visit to the Church to contemplate the true Portuguese version of Romeo and Juliet, the story of a forbidden love starring D. Pedro I and D. Inês de Castro.
