Sete Cidades & Lagoa de Fogo

The day begins with a visit to the traditional pineapple plantation, an organic crop grown in greenhouses and it is also possible to taste the pineapple liquor. The trip continues on the west coast of the island, stopping at the famous Pico do Carvão viewpoint to enjoy the beautiful view over both coasts of the island. Surrounded by greener vegetation, we will find the Vista do Rei viewpoint, the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades where you can enjoy the magnificent view over the blue lagoon and the green lagoon. When descending into the crater, we can see another lagoon, the Santiago lagoon. In the center of Sete Cidades, visit the São Nicolau church, followed by lunch.

In the afternoon, the tour continues along the coast enjoying the green landscape, passing through the Monasteries until reaching the site of Capelas to make a stop and observe the north coast of the island.

Continuing along the north coast, we will visit the historic center of Ribeira Grande and also a regional liquor store. In the direction of Lagoa do Fogo, we will visit the natural monument of Caldeira Velha, a natural reserve where you can take an optional bath in hot springs from a waterfall. We climb a little further and arrive at the fantastic Lagoa do Fogo, where you can marvel at an impressive view. Returning to Ponta Delgada via Pico da Barrosa we will once again have a fantastic view of the island.
