Day 1Lisbon

Reception at Lisbon Airport and transfer to the downtown hotel.

Day 2Lisbon

Breakfast at the Hotel. Departure at 08:15 going through Eduardo VII Park where we will make an introduction of the city of Lisbon, taking advantage of the majestic panoramic view of the city, we will know its geography and some hills of the Capital.

We will go back in time to the XV and XVI centuries, visiting monuments such as the Belém Tower, Monument of Portuguese Discovery and the Jerónimos Monastery. We will also taste the most typical sweet of the city and of Portugal, Pastel de Belém, originally created by the ancient monks who lived in the Monastery.

Later we will see the Palácio de Ajuda (former Royal Palace), the Lisbon Cathedral, the Alfama neighborhood and the most beautiful viewpoint in Lisbon, viewpoint of Our Lady of Mount. The famous Avenida de Liberdade, Rossio Square, Comércio Square, Barrio Alto are places that we cannot miss. To finish, we will visit the modern part from the city of Lisbon: The Park of Nations, projected and idealized for the celebration of the 1998 International Fair (Expo 98), where the 500 years of the colonization of the navigator and explorer Vasco da Gama has been commemorated on his arrival in India. The visit can be made by cable car throughout the exhibition area (optional).

Return to the Hotel scheduled at 5:00 p.m.

Day 3Sintra, Cascais and Estoril

Departure from Lisbon at 08:15 to the wonderful town of Sintra (UNESCO Cultural Landscape in 1995). We will start the day with a visit to the incredible Palácio Nacional de Pena (Guided tour). The history of the Palace takes us back to the Middle Ages, when a small dedicated church to Our Lady of Pena had been built on top of the Sintra hill.

he current Palace is from 1838, when the proclaimed King Consort of Portugal, Fernando II bought the property, where were the ruins of an ancient Jeronimos religious order monastery. This property had been built by order of King Manuel I (16th century) and turns it into his Palace Summer for the family. Today, the Palace is one of the greatest manifestations of romanticism of the XIX century.

After lunch (not included), we will continue for a short stop at the westernmost point of Europe, Cabo da Roca.

Cascais will be our next destination, a beautiful and ancient fishing village that was famous as a family resort of the Royal Portuguese at the end of the 19th century, as well as the refuge of European royalty. It is currently a popular vacation spot for Portuguese and foreign tourists. On the way back to Lisbon we will go through Estoril. Where we will have time to admire the beautiful Gardens of the Estoril Casino, one of the largest in Europe.

Return to the hotel at 5:00 p.m.

Day 4Fátima – 1st part

Breakfast. Departure from the hotel at 08:00 in the direction of the north of Portugal in a 1h15 minutes short journey to Fatima. One of the most important Cristian cities throughout the world, the city of Fatima, houses the famous Sanctuary of Fatima in honor of a set of apparitions of Our Lady in 1917. Our guide will explain the history of the apparitions and for the most devoted, it is possible to attend the Mass. Time to visit Casa dos Pastorinhos.

Day 4Nazaré and Óbidos – 2nd part

Our tour continues towards Nazaré, a picturesque fishing village on the Portugal coast, with charming alleys where you would like to get lost while exploring, viewpoints with infinite views over the sea and of course: beaches. Wonderful beaches, surfer's paradise, incredible cliffs and a beautiful promenade to walk. At this stop of the tour you can take advantage of the delicious local gastronomy. Lunch included (for groups).

After lunch, time to see the famous Praia do Norte, known for having the world’s record largest wave in the world (approximately 24 meters high)

Óbidos is a medieval village that was founded 208 BC, it has been declared National Heritage and is one of the most recommended visits to make around Lisbon. The village of Óbidos is famous for its cobbled streets surrounded by white-walled houses, for the liquor (Ginginha) and for the castle.

* Batalha - The Batalha Monastery is one of the most important monuments from Portugal and you will have the opportunity to visit it with this excursion. This place has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and it is an excellent example of the late Gothic architecture of the country.

Return to the Hotel scheduled at 6:00 p.m.

Day 5 (Optional tour*)Arrábida and Sesimbra

Departing Lisbon by crossing the famous 25 de Abril Bridge and listening to its history
(replica of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, United States). We will drive to the south of Lisbon to enjoy a nice view of the city from the Cristo Rey monument. Then we will go to Sesimbra, where we will have free time, on the way we will see the Sesimbra castle, Fort of San Tiago, the fishing port and the beautiful beaches in the area. In Azeitão region, our next stop, we will visit the famous José Maria
da Fonseca winery, where, after the guided tour, we will taste the typical Muscat. After Azeitão, we will continue to Setúbal through the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, a place where we will appreciate from various points the magnificent views that this region offers us. Free time for lunch.
 
Expected return to the hotel around 4.30 p.m.

to Évora, both with visits to wineries included.

Day 5 (Optional tour*)Évora e Herdade do Esporão

Departing Lisbon by crossing the longest bridge in Europe, the Vasco da Gama Bridge
in the direction to Évora. This city is classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. We will drive through different famous places like Capela dos Bones, Giraldo Square, São Francisco Church, the Cathedral and the Roman Temple, also known as Temple of Diana and the University.

Then we will start the guided tour of the winery "Herdade do Esporão, for those who want to get a closer look at the route and an area wine from Portugal. You will be able to see the different wineries, cellars and experience a trip to the past. This property dates from 1267. Apart from the guided tour with tastings included, lunch is included in Esporão (Lunch for groups).

Return to the Hotel at 5:30 p.m.

Day 6Lisbon
